As of 30th June, our 2020 Irish competition has closed for entries! We received so many entries that we are going to have to undertake a shortlisting process; this will be followed by a final judging process with our jury. We’ll share all details of this soon. Winners will be announced around late August.
For now – in cased you missed it, you can have a read below of the details for the just-finished competition so you know what our talented artists got up to – and make sure to keep an eye on our Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram pages for updates!
Who, what, when, & where!
1. WHO: The competition is open to kids and teens (ages 5-18) who are currently living in Ireland.
2. WHAT: Your artwork (whether you paint, draw, etch, screen print, etc.) must represent the biodiversity of Ireland in some way…whether you focus on a single animal or plant, or depict an entire habitat or landscape. Three dimensional pieces (e.g. sculptures, paper maché, collages, etc.) or other kinds of creative entries are also accepted!
A digital copy of your artwork and entry form is preferred (take a photo with your iPhone, iPad, or any option that works!). Just make sure to hold on to the original copy of your artwork in case you’re selected as a winner and we need to do a fancy photoshoot of it (because we may need the original for printing purposes). Along with your photo, please also make sure to include the information as requested on our online entry form. Alternatively, you can submit the entry form information and artwork image via email – send to wildpostcardproject@gmail.com

Judging
You will be judged by a panel including biodiversity experts and artists. We’re looking for creative, beautiful, and interesting artwork depicting living things in Ireland.

Cé dó é, cad é, cathain, & cá háit!
1. CÉ DÓ É: Tá an comórtas oscailte do pháistí agus dhéagóirí (aois 5-18) atá ina gcónaí in Éirinn faoi láthair.
2. CAD É: Ba cheart do d’obair ealaíne (bíodh tú ag péinteáil, ag tarraingt, ag eitseáil, ag priontáil scáileáin, srl.) léiriú a dhéanamh ar bithéagsúlacht na hÉireann ar bhealach éigin… Is féidir leat díriú ar ainmhí nó phlanda amháin, nó thaispeán gnáthóg nó tírdhreach iomlán. Glactar le píosaí tríthoiseacha (mar sampla deilbh, maché páipéir, colláisí, srl.) nó aon cineál eile iontráil cruthaitheach!
Is fearr linn cóip dhigiteach de d’obair ealaíne agus d’fhoirm iontrála (glac grianghraf le do iPhone, iPad, nó aon rud a oibríonn!). Déan cinnte go gcoinníonn tú greim ar an gcóip bhunaidh de d’obair ealaíne ar eagla go roghnófaí tú mar bhuaiteoir agus go gcaithfimid fótoshoot a dhéanamh (toisc go bhféadfadh go mbeadh an bhunchóip de dhíth orainn chun críocha priontála).
